fixes after install:

$ sudo echo 1 > /proc/acpi/asus/wlan
$ sudo vi /etc/fstab #fix cdrom line
$ sudo apt-get install 915resolution

get xorg.conf from http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=8242&p=2

$ xrandr  --size 800x480 # to change sizes

installed sun-java6-jre and firefox plugins to get working java software in browser.

also I use:
- pmount
- vlc
- no localization
- ucview

still have to fix:
- sound (alsamixer shows and changes values but no sound in terminal)
- functional keys
